If the linear function representing the number of laps Jessica swam each week is f(w) = 10w + 8. What does the 10 represent in this function?

if you make a graph of it (by just plugging things into the x and seeing what you get for y) you will soon see that 10 represents the slope :)

Also, the 10 represents the rate of change. As you increase the number of weeks, the number of laps goes up by 10. So the number of laps is increasing by 10 per week (week 1 is adding on 10 laps, week 2 adds on 20 laps, week 3 adds on 30 laps, etc)
