Can someone check this for me? Algebra 2 (radicals)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

#7 is ambiguous. It should be \(\sqrt{3x}\), but it looks like \(\sqrt{3}x.\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt that the same thing??

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No. The vertical bar (called a vinculum) is a grouping symbol. \(\sqrt{3x}\) means to multiply 3 and the value of x and then find the square root of the product. \(\sqrt{3}x\) means to find the square root of 3 and them multiply by the value fo x. Entirely different animals.

OpenStudy (nikato):

U can simplify 10 further. 12 root 2 + 10 root 2
