The sum of three consecutive even integers if the first integer is x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x + (x+1) + (x+2) = 3x +3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x + (x+2) + (x+4) = 3x+ 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yes my bad. Misread the even integer part.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand.

OpenStudy (nikato):

So let x be your first integer. The next even integer would be x+2 And the next next is x+4

OpenStudy (nikato):

With a real example, let x=2, then the next even integer is 4 or 2+2 And the next next is 2+4 or 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. and the answer is 3x+ 6 ?

OpenStudy (nikato):

Correct, as shown above by rachelfreak
