determine the area of the segment of a circle if the length of the chord is 15 inches

OpenStudy (gudden):

jian using the formula (theta/360)* pi * 2(radius) =length of cord.... you could get the values of theta and radius of the circle....( in the terms of each other) and then u could use those values in finding the area of the triangle formed by radius and the cord and then minus it from the area of the sector...:D and formula for area of sector = (theta/360)pi (radius)^2
