find the value of sin 11pi/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look at the graph. Go along the x-axis until you reach 11pi/6. Find the point on the graph, and drop a perpendicular to the y-axis. Read off the y-axis value, and you'll find that it is (√3)/2. Usually, though, you don't do this from a graph. You use standard angles to do the calculation. cos(11pi/6) = cos(-pi/6) = cos(pi/6) = (√3)/2 Standard angles: 0 (0 degrees), pi/6 (30 degrees), pi/4 (45 degrees), pi/3 (60 degrees), pi/2 (90 degrees).
