woohoo: this sounds more like an assignment in American History than it does one in writing.

I'd encourage you to think for a while about what "cultural diversity" means, and to come up with some examples (hopefully some within your own range of experience).

In terms of "effects of cultural diversity," consider both positive and negative aspects.

What about the Black experience? How has that affected American culture? What about racial profiling? What are some characteristics of Oriental people whose im migration to the USA have been positive?

Would you argue that cultural diversity is a positive development (e.g., many ethnic and national groups different from one another) or a negative one (discrimination, racism, cultural isolation within ghettos, etc.).

Should you choose to write an essay using some of these ideas (the choice is yours, of course), I'd be happy to give you feedback on your writing.
