why did the rise of dictators cause concern in the 1930s
. Dictators often plan to attack and conquer other countries.
So WWI had just ended and the world economy was horrible! The US, and many other countries, were in a depression. Most countries were broke and were trying to fix themselves. Some countries turned to dictatorship such as Russia and Germany. For Germany, Adolf Hitler was in charge. He had successfully brought Germany out of their depression. Hitler in his rise to fame had stressed the need for Germany to get back to its formal glory. The improved economy of Germany had cause to an increase of nationalsim and then imperialism. But with imperalism comes war. So to answer your question many countries wanted to expand their country under the control of a dictator. This caused concern because to have control of more land meant that they had to fight and go to war for it. And like I previously stated, the world had just gotten out of a major war and could not afford any more war debt. Hope that helped! If you have any questions just let me know :)
