A survey of 1500 subscribers to a certain news paper revealed that 1350 people subscribe to the daily morning edition and 750 subscribe to both the daily and the Sunday editions. How many subscribe to the Sunday edition? How many subscribe to the Sunday edition only?

OpenStudy (thebatman):

We have to figure out an equation first.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

here u have to make an assumption.... since the ones who have not subscribe either to DM or to SE r not given we had to assume that every one here at least subscribed to one of the news paper

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

got it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so! what is the 1500 / 900 at the bottom? i still don't understand 100% how to find these numbers.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

1350 = people who subscribe only to DM + people who subscribe to both DM and SE = in these type of questions it's given as people who subscribe to DM srr... 1500 should be 1350

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

explanation to the 900 is same as the explanation to the 1350
