For the circle below, what statements are true (circle will be attached after) 1. If the measure of a (theta) is 1 radian, then the arc length is 2r. 2. If the measure of the (theta) is 60 degrees, then the arc length is r. 3. The ratio of arc length to r is always equal to pi. 4. If the ratio of an arc length to r is 1, then the measure of theta is 1 radian.

Parth (parthkohli):

Note: Arc length is defined as \(r \times \theta\) where \(\theta\) is in radians.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It said error where you put the math :p

Parth (parthkohli):

Aww. Refresh the page.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I see it now, but I'm confused/

Parth (parthkohli):

All right. Do you know how a radian is defined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope. i missed the lesson. so i have no idea

Parth (parthkohli):

Awwie. Well, the angle is the ratio of the arc length to the radius. Remember this throughout your life.

Parth (parthkohli):

So when the radius is equal to the arc, theta will have a value of 1 radian.

Parth (parthkohli):

Err... it's really hard to explain this through a screen. I promise I'd be much better sitting beside you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, well uhm. do you know the answer to this question though?

Parth (parthkohli):

I do, but I am not allowed to say it. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well. then uhm. nvm.
