On a blueprint, the length of a wall is 5 centimeters. If the actual length of the wall is 15 feet, what is the scale of the blueprint at first i put 3 ft but i changed my answer to 3 cm

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

Do you know how to convert cm into foot ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im unsure but i did try calculating two diffrent ways and so thats how i got 3

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

1 inch = 2.54 cm 1 foot = 12 inch Now, do you should either convert both numerator and denominator into cm or foo; the answer will be the same (guess why?)

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

*omit do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on owo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think u made a typo i dont know what you mean by omit

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

1 inch = 2.54 cm 1 foot = 12 inch Now, you can either convert both numerator and denominator into cm or foot; the answer will be the same (guess why?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i heard something about a bottom number stays the same or something like that about the denominator but i dont think im correct

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

Ignore that..can you convert 15 feet into cm ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15 feet = 457.2 centimeters and i believe instead of the other solutions you hafe to multiply

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

Now; scale of blue print is : 1 unit = 457.2/5 cm = 91.44 cm :)
