I need help with the chain rule. I understand the concept, but after three attempts, I still can't see why the answer I'm putting into Webwork is wrong (or if I should simplify my answer further). Please see the attached image of my work. Thanks!

And I just realized that I've only solved for g'(x) and f'(x). :)

Actually, I take that back. Just woke up. :)

And what I meant was quotient rule.

Aw, man! That would do it for sure. Of course, when you have to type the answer into the homework system as "(17*(((4t^4+5t^2+3)/(5t^5-5t^3+2t))^16))*((((16t^3+10t)(5t^5-5t^3+2t))-((25t^4-15t^2+2)(4t^4+5t^2+3)))/((5t^5-5t^3+2t)^2)) Ok, I exaggerated a little, but you get the idea. :) Thanks a ton. I was starting to think I was going crazy.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh man what a mess XD

Yeah, the Webwork software is a menace to aspiring scientists. I love math, and I find myself having second thoughts. Thanks again.
