TBH this is about skyrim so unless you don't play the game don't look at this question

what happened to the dark elves like in morrowind?

They're still around. Morrowind, though, was wrecked when Red Mountain erupted sometime after the events in the game that it's named after forcing many of them to flee to other provinces. Great game, BTW.
