Free medal for best answer :D @.Sam. Is the sentence compound, or is it simple with a compound verb? Beech trees usually have thick silvery trunks and can reach heights of up to 160 feet. A. compound sentence B. simple sentence with a compound verb

Umm, I personally think it should be A. Because it is a compound sentence. As 'Beech trees usually have thick silvery trunks' is an independent clause and 'Beech trees can reach heights of up to 160 feet' is an independent clause. Unless I'm mistaken A is the answer haha. :P

ALSO, the and is a conjunction that adds them together to make a compound sentence. :) haha.

thanks :)
