How do you use GIMP 2? I am supposed to use it for digital photography, but I can't figure it out.
What specifically do you want to do in Gimp? It comes with pretty good documentation in the help section.
How to just generally use it my instructor explained it but I still dont understand how to do the basics
As I said, Gimp does many different tasks. Like when I process a photo, I typically 1. Adjust the levels, 2. Adjust the color balance, 3. Rotate it to straighten the frame and 4. Crop the image. And each of those is a separate menu bar or set of instructions. But that is what I do - I have absolutely no idea what you to (or your instructor wants you to) do to your images...
im just supposed to adjust the image like rotate it ad effects to the color of the photo. but I havent been using it i have been doing without but i am going to need to know how to adjust a photo on GIMP
There are help documents on each of these tasks. To rotate an image, you need the rotation tool box. To get to the rotation tool box, you either press 'shift' and 'r' at the same time. Shortcut works on my mac, maybe not on your computer. Once you have that window, you move the slider to tell it how much you want it to rotate and in which direction. I typically find something in the photo that should be horizontal or vertical and line it up with the side of the image window. Which is vertical or horizontal on your screen. Once you get it the way you like it, you click, "rotate."
okay cool thanks
