1) Pretend we talking about pizzas that are cut into 10 equal pieces. You have 13 complete pizzas and 2 slices Your friend has 4 pizzas and 3 slices How many Complete pizzas and slices of pizzas do you two have combined?

2) 4 + 3 gives you 7 complete pizzas. The slices 7+6 =13 slices and 12 slices make a pizza so you make another. You had 7, now you have 1 more plus and 1 extra slice You get 8 1/12
