an object starts from rest and accelerates uniformly in a straight line in the positive x direction. After 11 seconds, its speed is 70.0 m/s. Determine the acceleration of the object.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am having trouble about what formula I should use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any tips?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at your givens t=11 seconds Vf=70.0 m/s Vi=0m/s --> since they said that it starts from REST for this one, you just simply use the formula for acceleration \(\Large a= \frac {v_f-v_i}{t}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after this problem, would you have the time to help me out with more physics problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll try because, i also have physics assignments ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the acceleration of the object is simply 70/11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, don't forget the direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the direction is positive, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
