to solve for x
you want to get x all alone
to do that for x + 2 = 4
use the Subtraction Theorem of Equality
as in subtract 2 from both sides of the equation

@StudyGurl14 yeah I know, which is why I jumped in, cuz I knew there were gonna be people who were gonna give direct answers, which would be against the rules :P
so I took the opportunity to try to spread the fact that answers aren't supposed to be given, and to try to show (even for such an easy question) how it can be explained :)
