Joan has two jobs. Her total earnings are 2490. on the first job her social security tax is 12% and on the second it is 15%. in total she paid 324.60 in social security taxes. find out how much joan earns at each job.

You need to set up two equations. We can call the first job x and the second job y, That means x+y = 2490 Now what ever she makes on 1st and second job, 12% and 15% are taken out respectively, .12x + .15y = 324.60
