What made the Byzantine Empire strong for so many years?
Describe in at least 3 complete sentences so I can understand it without reading an entire book.
Hi compassionate
One of the major components to their wealth was their location. They were connected to Asian and European major trade routs. They also owned a degree of Italy, a huge export and importer among commerce. One of the Roman customs that the Byzantines kept was the entrusting of their eastern border defense to local militias in addition to the professional. This proved effective in significantly thickening their defense. Multiculturalism was also a reason why they were so powerful. It lead to advancements in science and knowledge. It also helped with commerce. The empire could be described as a"boiling pot of culture."
Wow thank, this is exactly what I needed.
