OK.  You're a genius, I know!  

All right:

if you take cookie kind 1 ---> 3 different fruits possible
cookie kind 2 ---> 3 different fruits possible
cookie kind 3 ---> 3 different fruits possible
kind 4 ---> 3 different fruits
kind 5 ---> 3 different fruits

So, for each kind, 3 fruits.  5 kinds, so 5 * 3 = 15 ways!

In general, if there are n kinds of one thing and m kinds of another, then n * m is the number of ways.
