m^2 + m^2 is what? Do I add the powers?

Just think of it like \(x + x\), but instead of \(x\), you have \(m^2\).

you would only add powers when multiplying
when adding though,
you would add like you would m + m = 2m
so m^2 + m^2 = 2m^2
