how to integrate cosec 2x

OpenStudy (kainui):

did you mean: \[\int\limits \csc^2(x)dx\]

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Lilli: Use Equation Editor if at all possible. Kainui has done you a favor by asking for clarification. If you meant Integral (csc 2x), see the following: http://math2.org/math/integrals/more/csc.htm If you meant Integral (csc x)^2, think of the Pythagorean identity that applies here.

OpenStudy (kainui):

@mathmale I don't think the pythagorean identity is really all that useful here. If the integral is (cscx)^2 and you know that: \[\frac{ d }{dx }\cot(x)=-\csc^2(x)\] Then you pretty much have the answer.
