There is a ratio to the dimensions. d, $d^2$, and $d^3$.  So the linear mesure is in d.  The square area is in $d^2$, and the cubic volume is in $d^3$

So, lets work with a real cube to see how this works.  Just a 1, 1, 1, cube.
