I need help with a proportion. Is there anybody that can help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (nikato):

Use transitive, since you know. a/b = 8/15, then a/8 = 8/15 And solve by first cross multiplying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15a=64?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did I get it right?

OpenStudy (nikato):

Correct so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=4.266666... Is that the rest, or did I get it wrong.

OpenStudy (nikato):

Yes. And you can either round ur answer to 4.267 or put it as a fraction or 4.266 with a bar over the 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the equivalent proportion is \[\frac{ a }{ 8 } = \frac{ 4.267 }{ 6 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nikato

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you put 4.266 as a fraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ^.^ How did you get 4.2666 in the first place? XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64/15, if I've been wrong this whole time, can you help me solve the problem correctly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64/15, and that is exactly 4.2666 in fraction form :3 Are you half-sleeping or something? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.2666 is a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't say? :D But since you (I think) need it in fraction form, then feel free to switch 4.2666 for 64/15 and do the number-crunching ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thank you. I am sleepy. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, now I'm actually reading the question, don't go yet, this is fun :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now that I HAVE read it, I'm not entirely sure what the question wants... is it asking you for a new fraction/ratio? :/
