I am currently on my ipad I think there should be a mobile version of this website & a app the way this is working is horrible and there isn't a way I can change devices If there is a way to make it easier please say so cause I really need this website
I agree…. OpenStudy really is a great website! As far as I know, an app is being engineered with Apple so far, so at this point, us people are just waiting for a response. As for android, I'm actually not sure. Just know and be comforted by the fact that an app will come in the near future
josh, we are working on it. Cant say any more.
But what about a mobile version of the website for kids who don't know the Apple ID Because things that are supposed to be tucked away off the screen aren't for me
If you're referring to OpenStudy being accessible online in general using Safari…. I'm pretty sure it already is
I am using safari right now my problems are with the zoom And the chat
Is there aprolem with my java ?
well i suppose it is an imperfect system. I doubt the issue is your problem tho ( what i mean is that you're equipment is not to blame).
No I'm saying it looks exactly the same and while I am typing that thing that pops up when u press's search subjects i seeing that while I'm typing
I guess it makes a difference when you hold your device in landscape of portret mode. Portret view works better on mobile devices. Don't know about iPad, never used OS on one of those.
Thanks this is better
i agree with josh! i tried to come log into os with my samsng but the page didnt load properly!!!
This is new. It shouldn't happen. We'll check it out.
The way the pages are laid out is, uh, "less than optimal" for use on the iPad, and presumably other tablets as well. The content is often drawn with the column of questions at the left overlapping the column for the current question (as if I should place a higher priority on the questions that I'm not answering than the one I am!) The status/menu bar with the name of the current section, your SS, etc. tends to flit about the screen, often being drawn over the exact spot where text being typed is displayed. Even when it is in the correct spot, half of the screen real estate is consumed by the keyboard, half of the remaining space is showing the "Ask a question" box and an advertisement, and the small fraction of the screen left over gives you about 1 line of preview of what you've typed. Any response requiring you to actually look at the discussion requires continual scrolling back and forth. Then of course there's the headache of the iPad's soft keyboard requiring you to shift back and forth between layouts as you type formatted equations, but that's not something that is OpenStudy's fault. All in all, it's apparent that no one at OpenStudy Galactic HQ attempts to do any substantial amount of work using an iPad on the website or this sorry state of affairs wouldn't have persisted so long. It's important to have developers and other stakeholders who spend substantial time using the same environment as the users if you want to deliver a good experience. Right now, you \( \bf really\) have to want to use it on an iPad to do so! It is barely workable in landscape mode, and portrait mode is useful for checking notifications, PMs and not much more. It must be incredibly frustrating to use as one's only access to the site. A few screenshots to illustrate: http://imageshack.com/a/img822/701/kp1p.png http://imageshack.com/a/img197/1121/fm4a.png
