What is a limiting reagent?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

Suppose there's a molecule that's made of 1 blue atom and 1 red atom. Every copy of that molecule will look identical, and will have the same ratio of pieces: 1-1. If you had a pile of blue atoms (100 or so) and a pile of red atoms (150), how many molecules could you make? Why? What runs out? What's the LIMITING reactant?
