Names of family members are capitalized (Mother, Father) except when accompanied by a last nameplural nounpossessive.

So if you were to say Mother as a name, then you would have a capital letter, but if you were saying it as just a noun then you wouldn't have a capital letter. Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't!
