Question 1 Consider a right triangle wih legs of length \(x\), \(y\) and hypotenuse of length \(z\). Also, let \(\theta\) be the measure of the angle opposite side \(x\). |dw:1391731860113:dw| Now, \[\sin \theta=\frac{x}{z} \text{and } \cos \theta = \frac{y}{z}.\] We all know that the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle. So x < z and y < z. So, we expect that x/z and y/z to be less than or equal to 1.
