The equation of line AB is y = 2x + 4. Write an equation of a line parallel to line AB in slope-intercept form that contains point (3, −2). my friend says y = -1/2x − 1/2 but i think its y=2x+4?

Slope will be -(1/2) use y = -(1/2) x + b to find b and solve the problem.
you are trying to find a parallel line, which means it has the same slope
therefore it is y=2x+b. then you use (3, -2) to solve for b
