An infinite plane of charge with charge density -3.9uc is 2.2cm away (and perpendicular to) from an infinite conducting slab of charge density 81uc, what is the magnitude of the electric field half way between the two slabs? Ive been working on this for some time now and seem to be doing something wrong. Please Help

Can you show what your attempt is? It might be just something tiny and it turns out you understand the concept much better than you think.

|dw:1391752074975:dw| Notice that the electric field will only be perpendicular to the plate (like a capacitor!) because all the parallel components will exactly cancel out the others.
