uh, yeah - it's been a while since I told my story
hope I can paint you a picture like an allegory
naw - I ain't always been like this
thinkin' back on my life as I write this
since birth, no one taught me to do wrong
rebellin all the time - living like I know it all
my soul searchin - lookn for somethin that lasts
every time I try the world the high goes so fast
typical dude - at every party sippin on bacardi
I wanna do it big and party like a mardi-
graw - and not to mention that I use to ball
full-ride scholarship, man I think I got it all
the girls the drinks the friends the dank
it's what I saw in the media but just feels like I'm shootin blanks
nothin seemed to satisfy - got me wonderin why?
questions rise thinkin where will I go when die?

man there's gotta be more than what we see
if this is it I guess I'll just keep livin for me
the emptiness I drown out by takin sin's kiss
after the drinks still feel dead like a carcass
seems like this life is sorda like a merry go round
I keep gettin hurt, so tired of being bound
I didn't wanna stop I'm worried that I'll loose a friend
why do I feel like this? I'm at a loose end
but then I ran into this dude that told me bout the Christ
he told me to put my faith in Him and trust Him with my life
I repented of my sins, while I was alone
on my knees cuz I don't wanna do this on my own
tears hit the floor just like rain drops
If sin was a storm - can You make it stop?
Jesus here I am - I am all Your's
felt His peace wash over sea-shore
