PLEASE HELP! Write the first ten terms of a sequence whose first term is -10 and whose common difference is -2.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

it;s simple all u have to do is take the first term as (-10) then keep adding ( -2) u will get the terms... ( -10 ) , [ (-10) + (-2) ] ..... so on where u will get (-10) , (-12) , (-14) .... Got it :) ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

is this arithmetic or geometric ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Common difference is the difference between any 2 consecutive terms. So, to get the next term you just add (-2).

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

if it's geometric there will be a common ration not a common difference ...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oh...ok...thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can check whether the common difference is (-2) or not by subtracting the next term from the just preceding term, so as to not make any careless mistakes. Hope this helps.

u r welcome ;) texaschic
