MEDAL TO THE ANSWER! Powers of 10 - Please help! What is 10(Exponent of 6) in standard form? A. 0.0000001 B. 0.000001 I think its one of those ^^

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The problem is \(\Large 10^{6}\) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So we can represent that as \[\Large 1.0 \times 10^{6}\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

That positive 6 as the exponent then tells us to move that decimal 6 spots to the right to get \[\Large 1,000,000\] which is the number one million. So, \[\Large 1.0 \times 10^{6} = 1,000,000\] \[\Large 10^{6} = 1,000,000\]
