So we can represent that as $$\Large 1.0 \times 10^{6}$$

That positive 6 as the exponent then tells us to move that decimal 6 spots to the right to get 

$$\Large 1,000,000$$

which is the number one million.

So,

$$\Large 1.0 \times 10^{6} = 1,000,000$$

$$\Large 10^{6} = 1,000,000$$
