Which phrase best defines a parallelogram? A. both pairs of opposite sides parallel B. four right angles C. four congruent sides D. exactly one pair of parallel sides

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

In the name "parallelogram" is "parallel", so that gives you a hint of what we're dealing with. It turns out that we will have 2 pairs of opposite parallel sides (and not just one set of parallel sides, that would be a trapezoid) So the answer is "both pairs of opposite sides parallel" just based on the very definition of the term.
