I have an emotional story I'm writing, but I do need another story to contrast to the first one. Any suggestions?
Depends on emotional, if you mean emotionally happy (tears of joy lel) then you could contrast it with something totally opposite with a saddening effect. For example: First story: A little girl reunites with her mother and is crying tears of joy. Next Event: She loses her mother, and has to be fostered. Now she's crying tears of omg. ;-; Basically something that ruins the moment, If the story you are writing is emotional pain, it would be vice-versa.
I have the first story, but it's a "bittersweet" sadness story.
What the main story about?
It's a daughter's confession letter to her father who was sent to fight the Cold War. In the end, she reveals that she is standing at his grave.
Then perhaps you could add a follow-up event with the daughter meeting someone that will take care of her . . . someone new. The main idea could be she is being taken in and considers him/her to be a father/mother to the daughter . . . I'm a bit rusty but I just thought of that after re-watching Les Miserables last night.
OMG LES MISERABLES
Kind of like when Cosette's mother dies and is taken in by Jean Valjean.
Or whatever his name was at that moment. :P
Let me hug you ;u; -hugs-
