Something for the newbies.
Since there has been many new users, and some of them don't know the basics of navigating this site, I made a simple tutorial. This one is for posting questions. I will make more if requested for other uses of the site. Please bookmark it and use when needed! :) Hope I can help the newbies. PS I used MSPaint. It was a rough one. http://prntscr.com/2qifcf
You should modify it. Talk about the bump button, draw tool, file, equation editor, and closing your topic.
Yup I'll make a separate one for that. I made this one with people who don't know how to even post questions in mind. Thanks for the suggestion.
Make it all into one big tutorial.
Ooooh boy. I'll put that into my project list. Hopefully I'll actually do it. Btw I only know Paint and some basic video making skills so expect noobness >.>
I hereby assign Wolfe8 and I to making a tutorial for OpenStudy. Let's get the ball rolling, @wolfe8
Oh dear God xD Ok ok I'll try but don't put too much hope in me. And remind me every once in a while to do it. Right now I'm getting my video software on this laptop.
Nice job Wolfe! When I first joined I wasn't sure how to post questions real good so had to figure it out by myself :/ But glad there are people like you making a tutorial to help the newbies out ^_^
Wolfe, all I ask is you try your best. I'll be there by your side (:
Yeah Shadow this is why I'm making them - so I can reduce that scenario. Ok thanks Comp :D
So if anyone has suggestion on what I should put in the tutorial(I'm thinking of making a video) please put them in here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zhey4Rloe_8LeAifhbr250rpeTt56yv3GvPPXcs3K3U/edit?usp=sharing Thanks!
Good start wolfe! we have already given this to ambies. http://prezi.com/fs3hqdpcopic/an-unofficial-guide-to-openstudy/ try to make something better than this :)
Oh boy. To beat that it'll HAVE to be a video haha. Ok I'll try. I hope Petite will bear with me >.<
Go for the gold!
Yes ma'am!
Less time for me.. Lol ^_^ Just kidding :) As long as it's for Open Study. I'm so proud of you honey ^_^
Some buddies don't even know how to change there profile pic. Make that too!
That's awesome! Hope you succeed in making a complete video tutorial for OS, maybe we could program it so that whenever a new user signs up for the first time, the guide will appear and they'll have to go through it before they can actually start using OS. Maybe you could start collaborating with some other high-level users here and create an ultimate guide? #projectosguide
I'm about to post some stuff, I would like feedback. I know that Wolfe8 and Compassion said they would do it, but here is a basic idea of my Tutorial.
These tutorials were first mentioned by Compassion in the second reply on this question.
These tutorials are just ideas and to add on to wolfe8's tutorial. I think that wolfe had a great idea, and I liked making these.
Whoah those are so much nicer and neat. I hope you didn't spend too much time on it. I took like 15 minutes to make mine. We should use those ones for specific help. But I'm almost done with the video tutorial now.
I took about 15 minutes for the three total.
It wasn't much bother, because I am good at paint and enjoy it.
When will the video be ready you think?
Tonight hopefully. This laptop is new so it shouldn't take long to render. I just need to put in some new suggestions where I can, insert audio, and then I'm done.
Coll, I think that when the video is done Preetha needs to see it. It should be an option for first time OpenStudies to view, and should be posted here: http://www.youtube.com/user/OpenStudying (I don't know who runs OpenStudying on Youtube though)
*Cool, not Coll
*OpenStudiers, not OpenStudies I HATE TYPOS!!!!
added what I could to the doc good luck! @wolfe8
There's a lot of great stuff on that list that I could do in individual tutorial, but it would be easier if wolfe can make a great tutorial video. (not saying that wolfe will, but just saying)
*will is supposed to be won't
Good job Sebastian ^_^
This is a great Idea, Great Job!
Looks like everything is going as planned Wolfe! Round of applause for your time and thoughtfulness in trying to make this video work! I'm so proud of you Wolfe! Thank you!!! :D
Thanks guys. I hope I can help people with it.
