3. saturn's day is roughly 10 hours . It takes about 30 yrs. for saturn to return to the same point in space . How do saturn's periods of rotation and revolution compare to Earth's ? ( 1point ) A . Earths period of rotation and revolution are both shorter B. Earth's period of rotation and revolution are both longer C . Earth's period of rotation is longer ; earth's period of revolution is shorter D. Earth's period of rotation is shorter ; earth's period of revolution is longer

OpenStudy (mrnood):

You know how long a day is on earth (period of rotation). You know how long a year is on earth (period of revolution) So- Compare them with those given in the question for Saturn - and choose the correct option.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is i get what ur saying but still dont get it ?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

From the question, and your knowledge about earth answer the following statements: a) The period of rotation on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn b) The period of revolution on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn When you know the answers to those 2 statements (and you DO already know them), then choose the correct answer which has both the correct statements in it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i probably go for B WHAT BOUT U ?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I fail to see what your problem is - B is wrong. If you don't understand what 'period of revolution', and 'period of rotation' mean then you need to refer to you text book until you do. If you want to - then please reply with the answers to the 2 statements which I posed in my replay above: answer THESE: a) The period of rotation on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn b) The period of revolution on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn The we can discuss the interpretation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH OKAY so A ?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

just answer the question (having THOUGHT about it) - it will be quicker than taking 4 guesses until I give you the answer.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

answer THESE: a) The period of rotation on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn b) The period of revolution on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn Then I will help more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LONGER . LONGER

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK - this is not correct answer these: The period of rotation on earth (1 Earth day) is ?? hours The period of rotation on Saturn is (1 Saturn day) is ?? hours Therefore the period of rotation on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn The period of revolution of earth (around the sun) is 1 year The period of revolution of Saturn (around the sun0 is ?? years Therefore the period of revolution on earth is ?? (longer or shorter) than that on Saturn Please answer all 6 statements You will then have th eanswer to your question. ALL the information you need is in this post - please take a couple of mins to THINK about it
