Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) to solve for x for -x/6 - 3 = -9 add 3 to both sides +3 +3 -x/6 = -6 then multiply both sides by 6 *6 *6 to get -x = -36 then multiply both sides by negative so the negatives cancel out
