need somebody to help me by explaining slopes and y-intercepts directly to me, I would very kindly apreciate it.!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y-intercept is where the x-coordinate becomes zero. For example, for an equation, say, y=3x+2 , putting x=0 yields y=2 which is the y intercept. And as for slope, are you asking that for a straight line or any general curve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is a linear equation im looking for but it wouldnt really matter.

looking at the problems, most of them seem to be linear.

IF you are looking for the definition of slope for a straight line, it is the angle that the line makes with the +ve x axis. In case of a curve, you have to consider the tangent line and find the angle it makes with +ve x axis. There is yet another definition of slope given as following:|dw:1391884354614:dw|
