OpenStudy (anonymous):

Verify the following identity: cos(x)/sin(x)+1 = tan(x)-sec(x)+1/tan(x)+sec(x)-1 how do i start the problem?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf \cfrac{cos(x)}{sin(x)+1}=\cfrac{tan(x)-sec(x)+1}{tan(x)+sec(x)-1}\quad ?\)

OpenStudy (kainui):

Start by converting everything to sines and cosines only, get rid of all tan and sec, since they are just different ways of looking at sine and cosine.
