please help! verify so that the right side is equal to the left 1 + sec^2x sin^2x = sec^2x

OpenStudy (kainui):

Multiply both sides of cos^2(x) and see what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand. why would i multiply both sides if im only verifying one side?

OpenStudy (kainui):

If I have 10+x dollars and I say that's the same as 15 dollars, then if you subtract 10 from both sides, you can see that the x represents 5 dollars, right? If they're equal, it doesn't change anything to do the same thing to both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know i understand that but the directions that i got were to manipulate only one side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a way to do that?
