What is the best definition of linear plot development? A storyline that begins at a moment in the future and then progresses by telling the events in reverse order. A storyline that uses flashbacks and foreshadowing to give the reader hints about what has already happened and what is to come. A storyline that always proceeds in chronological order, starting at a point in the past and moving towards a point in the future. A storyline that starts at a given point then progresses through a series of events to a climax and a resolution.

You can rule out some, as "linear" means "in a straight line." C and D seem closest to right.
