1 inch equals 500 miles is which type of scale?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it multiple choice? Scale: http://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/scale.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Small, bar, large or ratio those are the choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is a ratio scale, because there is a ratio involved: 1 in.:500 miles here are some examples: http://www.htm.uoguelph.ca/MJResearch/ResearchProcess/RatioScale.htm http://www.mathsisfun.com/numbers/ratio.html

OpenStudy (leoray):

The answer is small because it depends on how big you want your map to be...if you pick one inch to one mile then it will be a lot bigger...if you pick one inch to 500 miles then it will be smaller. :)
