\[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times 3 = 1 \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } hours\]

Add that on to 4 hours:
\[4 hours + 1\frac{ 1 }{ 2 } hours = 5 \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } hours\]

Well you need to work out the total time the trip will take. That means the 4 hours on the road + 3 1/2 hours stops. The time they need to leave at is then 8-TOTALTIME
