Do you mean was there oxygen in the earth early atmosphere? It mostly consisted of methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and water vapor. It slowly changed to consist of nitrogen gases as well as carbon dioxide but no oxygen until the atmosphere we know now formed 2 billion years ago.
