Please show me step by step how to solve this http://awesomescreenshot.com/0792bvlb07
49.0 - 1.5 = 4.75 You would change 49 into a decimal by adding the point zero. After you convert the whole number into a decimal you would then subtract.
I'm confused...
Because it's an exponent...
Im so sorry, I misread it. Give me a sec to work it out
It's no problem ...thank you
All you need to do is multiply -1.5 by 49. To make it easier you would make 49, 49.0 then multiply. The answer should come out to be -73.5 Equation: 49.0 x -1.5 = -73.5
That's the same answer I chose but it was incorrect... I'm thinking maybe we have to square the 49 first
I'm leaving soon and i don't want to cut you off so I'm going to refer you to someone who is always on here and can help you in a jiffy.
@hartnn
I'd appreciate it... thank you. Hopefully you have a goo day as well.
\(\Large 49^{-1.5} = [(7)^2 ]^{-3/2} \) got this part ?
I understand everything except for where the -3/2 came from... is that the fraction form of -1.5
yes, thats correct, -1.5 = -3/2 then, the exponents gets multiplied , 2*(-3/2) = -3 so, its just 7^-3 = 1/7^3 = 1/343
Thank you... I understand
