Probability is a fraction. It's the number of 'good' outcomes divided by TOTAL number of outcomes.

Perhaps an example would do you some good ^_^ For the first item, there are two 'good' outcome: A or B. And there are 26 total outcomes, since there are 26 letters in all. So the probability of the first item happening is: \[\Large \frac2{26}=\frac1{13}\]
