What does this photograph reveal about life in the United States during World War II? Most industrial efforts were focused on producing materials for the war. Many women joined the industrial workforce while men were fighting overseas. Many families struggled to support themselves in a troubled economy. Fair and safe working conditions were not yet established by federal law.
