can some one help me When a Lunar Module landed on the Moon, it used thrusters to slow its descent to the surface. When other spacecraft are returned to Earth, they use parachutes to slow their descent. Why wouldn't a parachute be useful on the Moon? There is no gravity on the Moon, so thrusters are needed to reach the Moon's surface. There is no air on the Moon, so there is no air resistance and the parachute would be ineffective. Heavy winds on the Moon would prevent the parachute from opening. The parachute would burn up in the Moon's thick atmosphere.

What do you know about the atmosphere of the moon? If you don't know about it - then you should research it. The answer will be very clear when you do.
