The computer only accepts it in square root form.

Well, its a decimal... e.e it won't be in square root form because you want to know what \[\sqrt{9}\] to the 4th power is.. which is 1.732051

This is what my teacher just told me: The 4th root of 9 which is written \[\sqrt[4]{9}\] which is equal to 1.7
